GTbuy Customs Guide 2026 — USA, UK, Australia & Canada
"Will customs stop my package?" is one of the most asked questions on r/FashionReps. The answer depends on your country, declared value and shipping line.
Customs is the most anxiety-inducing part of buying on GTbuy for Western buyers. Here are the real numbers for the four most common buyer countries.
General community-sourced information only. Customs laws change. Verify with your country’s customs authority for current rules.
United States
Parcels with declared value under $800 USD (de minimis threshold) typically clear customs duty-free. This covers the vast majority of GTbuy orders.
United Kingdom
VAT (20%) applies to all imports since 2021. For orders over £135, import VAT is charged before delivery, plus a carrier handling fee of £8–12.
Australia
GST (10%) applies to all imports. Collected by the carrier on delivery for orders under AUD $1,000. Biosecurity: ensure shoes and leather goods are clean before shipping.
Canada
De minimis threshold is only CAD $20. Almost all GTbuy orders incur duties plus GST/HST. DHL brokerage fees (CAD $20–50) can add significantly — many Canadian buyers prefer economy lines.
